- Instructions for Installation and Use:
-
-
- 1. Get File Search - Import (or paste) this sequence into your AOL keyset.
- This sequence issues command-K, provides the literal "file search", and
- issues a "return", thereby calling up the master file search window. This
- sequence is currently assigned to the page up key on the extended keyboard.
- (Shameless plug: This sequence can be appended to my "Logon AOL" se-
- quence [available under "Utilities - New" as "AOL Quickeys", uploaded
- 04/19/92], resulting in a sequence which logs on to AOL and immediately
- brings forward the master file search window. Sadly, since QK2 is not
- particularly bright when it comes to the business of window recognition
- [either that, or I'm not particularly bright when it comes to the business
- of reading/understanding/implementing the information in the QK manual],
- I have found it necessary to insert a pause between these two sequences
- when they are joined into a single sequence. In my case, 10 seconds is re-
- quired to allow for the screen to be redrawn; you may need to play around
- with pauses of different lengths in order to arrive at a satisfactory time
- for your system.)
-
- 2. Log Off AOL - Import (or paste) this sequence into your AOL keyset. This
- sequence issues command-Q, return, pauses (arrrrgh!) for 10 seconds while
- the "quit window" is filled-in, and the issues another return to quit the ap-
- plication. Again, you may want to try pauses of different duration to find
- one satisfactory for your system. This sequence is currently assigned to
- the end key on the extended keyboard.

- These keys are free (whee!) and I hope you find them useful.
